My new client onboarding process is thoughtfully designed to build rapport, gather necessary information, and set the stage for a successful therapeutic relationship. I aim to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported from our very first interaction.
Set Up a Courtesy Inquiry1. Courtesy Inquiry
Your journey starts with an initial courtesy inquiry via email or a 15-minute phone call. I’ll gather basic information, answer any questions, and we will assess if my practice might be a good fit for you.
After this, you'll get a welcome email with session details, policies, and payment info. You will be able to complete intake forms and consent documents, electronically, for convenience.
2. Initial therapy session
Your first session focuses on spending the hour getting to know more about you while building rapport in a comfortable space where you feel heard. I’ll ask questions to get a more well-rounded sense of you in the context of your life experiences, past and present.
I encourage clients to not feel pressured to commit to continuing therapy during our initial session and always give the option to sleep on it before getting back to me about continuing on.
That said, some clients prefer to commit to subsequent sessions by the end of our hour together and that’s ok too!
3. Moving Forward in Therapy
As therapy continues, our work together becomes a space where you can bring whatever feels most important- whether that’s untangling old patterns, making sense of current challenges, or exploring new possibilities. I see my role as both a guide and a collaborator: attentive to what you want to process, while also helping you notice themes, connections, and opportunities for growth that may not be immediately obvious. Together, we’ll shape the direction of our work in a way that feels meaningful and supportive to you.

I am a private pay provider and do not bill insurance directly.
While I understand this may feel like a barrier for some, there are important reasons behind this decision—reasons that ultimately protect the integrity and privacy of the therapy process.
When therapy is billed through insurance, a diagnosis is required, and treatment must often fit within the medical model of “medical necessity.” This can limit how we work together—restricting the number of sessions, the types of issues we can address, and even the pace of our work. It may also mean that your mental health information becomes part of your permanent medical record.
By working outside the insurance system, therapy remains flexible, confidential, and truly client-centered. We’re not bound to a one-size-fits-all model, and our work isn’t dictated by insurance policies. This allows us to focus fully on your experience and goals—at your own pace, with intention and depth.
